CBS 3 Evening Anchor
Paul Brown

Paul Brown joined CBS 3 Duluth as our evening anchor in July 2022.

His career in television news spans 30 years, starting in Abilene, Texas, not far from the small town where he and his wife, Dodie, graduated high school.

After several years as a reporter in Rochester, NY, at WROC-TV, Paul returned to Abilene and served as news director and anchor at KTXS-TV.

Most recently, he anchored and covered politics for what is now Spectrum News in Austin, Texas.

Paul has been recognized by his peers for his reporting and anchoring, having won several Texas Associated Press Broadcasters awards, two regional Edward R. Murrow awards, and a regional Emmy nomination for his series on the 40th anniversary of the University of Texas Tower shooting.

He also served as a professor the past several years at Austin Community College, where he led the journalism department.

Paul says a career highlight was covering the 2012 Republican and Democratic national conventions. He has had the opportunity to interview numerous governors, U.S. senators, and presidential candidates.

Paul is excited to continue to report and anchor the news in the Northland as his wife serves as president and CEO for Goodwill Duluth. When they are not working, they both love to hike and camp, and travel in their 20-foot trailer “Nellie,” named for the famous explorer and journalist Nellie Bly. They are often accompanied by their Australian Cattle Dog, “Colt.”
