VIRGINIA, MN -- Four law enforcement officers suffered minor injuries during a standoff in Virginia Friday.

According to Virginia Police, it happened just before 10 a.m. on the 300 block of 1st St. North.

A resident reported a man they didn’t know broke into their home and barricaded themselves in their basement and garage area.

When authorities arrived, they said the suspect wouldn’t follow officers’ commands.

Authorities used “less than lethal” ammunition, a K9, and a taser.

Eventually, they were able to make contact with the suspect.

The suspect was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A St. Louis County Deputy and three Virginia Police officers also suffered minor injuries, although it was not immediately clear what those injuries were or how they were caused.

The suspect is currently in the St. Louis County Jail, where he’s expected to be charged.
