Ashland, WI- The City Council approved this week a resolution to push back council meeting start times. Rather than starting at 5:30 p.m. meetings will now be held at 6 p.m. They will also continue to be held in-person or virtually for those who wish to tune in. The Ashland City Council meets every third Tuesday of the month.

Duluth, MN- Wade stadium will be the place to be this Sunday. The Duluth Library Foundation is hosting their 5th annual Books and Baseball Day. Before the game children will get to enjoy story time with Huskies players. There will also be activities hosted by the Duluth Children’s Museum, games with local highschool baseball teams and a meet and greet with a guest author. Also in attendance will be the libraries new mascot Library Lynx! The baseball game is at 3:05 p.m. Sunday July 31 but the fun starts at 1:15 p.m.

Cook County, MN- A local program will be growing thanks to a grant. The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation and the Cook County Community Fund awarded the Cook County Restorative Justice program $50,000. With that money they plan to add staffing and take on truancy issues under their collaborative efforts with ISD 166 and others. They say truancy issues grew during the pandemic and this grant will help with training volunteers and their leadership team as well as other administrative costs.
