DULUTH, MN-- A Duluth man has been charged after apparently trying to get revenge for his brother’s death.

Juamada Anderson, 22, was shot and killed in downtown Duluth in May of last year.

According to court documents, several people were arrested for that crime, including the accused shooter Patrick Battees Jr., who’s charged with murder.

Battees’ case is still playing out in court.

As of Tuesday, Juamada’s brother Juaquil Anderson was charged with second-degree assault.

According to police, Juaquil Anderson shot a man in Duluth’s East Hillside neighborhood Thursday night.

Court documents show Juaquil showed up to the 33-year-old victim’s apartment and pulled out a gun.

From there, they started wrestling over it and the gun went off.

The victim was shot twice in the chest and taken to the hospital.

No word on his condition.

The victim may have been involved in last year’s shooting but police did not say how or if he’s one of the people charged in that crime.
