City by City: Wisconsin, Ely, Hibbing
Wisconsin- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is planning for the future of electric vehicles statewide. Through July 24 the public is invited to review the agency’s Wisconsin Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Plan. Over the next five years, the state is estimated to receive approximately $78 million from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program. They are planning to use those funds to develop a network of publicly accessible charging stations along alternative fuel corridors.
Ely, MN- The community is invited to a recycling and waste workshop. The Iowa Waste Reduction Center will be in Whiteside Park Monday, July 25 with a free hands-on class. During the class, they will cover better-composting methods, ideas for additional recycling, and PFAS contamination. All community members are invited to attend the two-hour workshop.
Hibbing, MN- A notice to voters the Greyhound Bus Museum will no longer be a voting location. The new location for Precinct 1A will be the Hibbing National Guard Armory on Brooklyn Drive. All other polling locations will stay the same. A reminder to voters in Minnesota that the deadline to register in advance for Primary Election Day ends July 19.
