CARLTON Co., MN-- A Carlton man and licensed foster care provider has been charged with 16 felonies after allegedly sexually abusing children and photographing it.

Stephan Jeremiah Hansen, 28, was charged Tuesday after Carlton County officers obtained a “significant” amount of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) from Hansen’s iCloud storage.

Hansen is a licensed foster care provider through Fond du Lac Foster Care Licensing and Placement Agency, which requested immediate suspension of his foster license.

Officers identified some of the children in the pornographic photos and took the next steps to help protect those children.

During interviews, multiple children claimed Hansen sexually abused them.

According to the report, none of the children identified were foster children.

Hansen has been charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct; five counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct; five counts of possession of pornographic material of minor; and five counts of using a minor in sexual performance/pornographic work.

This is an ongoing investigation.
