Biwabik, MN- The Biwabik community needs volunteers. Bike MS: Ride Across Minnesota 2022 is a 5-day event where bikers ride from Proctor to Chisholm to Biwabik and Two Harbors before returning to Proctor. City leaders need people to help while riders are in town and on the road. Bike MS has rest stops every 10-12 miles with several volunteers at each one. The event starts on July 18.

Ashland and Bayfield Counties- The area clinic is launching a new support chapter. The group is called 100 Who Care and this would be the 23rd chapter in Wisconsin. It is essentially a giving circle where 100 people pledge $400 annually and then host four meetings a year to determine what local non-profits to donate to. Each member nominates a non-profit falling under three categories: arts, environment and social services. NorthLakes Community Clinic is launching this newest chapter. The first meeting will be July 18 at 5:30 p.m.

Hayward, WI- Kristine Ochu is a local author giving portions of her book sales to local resources. On Wednesday, July 13 she is hosting a community event to share her own story from log-rolling champion to international best-selling author! The event will be held at the Sherman and Ruth Weiss Library, one of the recipients of book proceeds. She will share more on her motivation to write an uplifting story as well as how the community and other aspects of life influenced her.
