Ironwood, MI- Festival Ironwood is kicking off with a group ride. This Wednesday, July 13 is the first day of the 5-day long community event. In addition to other opening night events, there will be a Fat Tire Club Ride. Riders will meet at Depot Park at 6 p.m. and head out at 6:30 p.m. Helmets are required. Due to the Festival Ironwood activities, there are detoured ATV routes that will reopen on July 19.

Ashland, WI- Registration is still open for an upcoming ATV safety course. According to Wisconsin state law, all ATV operators over the age of 12 must possess a valid ATV safety certificate. Additionally, all ATV safety-certified youth aged 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult except for agricultural purposes. Friday and Saturday, July 15-16, is one of the only safety courses offered in our area for a while. Registration is only $10 and parents are required to attend the first day.

Minnesota- Each State Park Trail system is open to different when it comes to off-highway vehicles. The three levels are closed, limited and managed. Off-highway vehicles include any ATVs, motorcycles or other off-road vehicles. In our region, most parks are managed meaning trails are open to all OHVs unless otherwise posted. A few parks in our area are mixed classifications, so riders should always check what is allowed before heading out.
