Man arrested after woman assaulted in DECC parking ramp

A man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman in the DECC parking ramp on the Fourth of July.
According to Duluth Police, they responded to the ramp around 6:40 p.m. Monday.
A 65-year-old woman told police she was assaulted by a man. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Based on her description, police located the 37-year-old suspect at the Downtown Transit Center.
Authorities say the suspect started coming toward the officer and a struggle ensued.
Eventually, police took the suspect into custody.
He was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation and then was booked into the St. Louis County Jail.
