Hibbing, MN- The City of Hibbing received a grant to clean and repurpose a contaminated site. Nearly $250,000 will get allocated from the Department of Employment and Economic Development. The money will clean and redevelop the site into a proposed new eye clinic. The project is anticipated to create four jobs and retain eight jobs. Other funds for the project will come from a developer and the IRRRB.

Iron Range, MN- IRRRB Grant opportunities for the Fiscal year 2023 open Friday, July 1 with the exception of Culture and Tourism Grants that open in August. A few of the grant areas include community redevelopment, regional trails, workforce and more. They also offer grant writing assistance for those in need

Ely, MN- Police warn renters of scams when they begin looking to own a home. The Ely Police Department said via Facebook, that scammers have been using realtor photos to create ads for rental homes. After victims make a security deposit they stop responding. Law enforcement recommends renters search addresses to see if photos are used on another webpage or use resources such at St. Louis County Land Explorer to verify ownership. Residents can also call the police department with any questions or concerns.
