Eau Claire homicide suspect arrested in Phillips
EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wis. (WSAW) - The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Department has ended its search for a homicide suspect after he was arrested in Phillips.
Tuesday night, authorities began searching for Philip Novak, 36, after he was believed to be in northern Wisconsin or Upper Michigan. He was arrested around midnight with the assistance of the Phillips Police Department.
Authorities said he is the suspect in a homicide that occurred June 16 in Eau Claire County. The victim in this homicide was identified as Eddie L. Banks, 46. Banks died of a gunshot wound.
Eau Claire officials said they still have several interviews to conduct, despite Novak’s arrest. Philip remains in the Price County Jail.
