UMD announces Interim Athletic Director amid search for new hire
DULUTH, MN-- After UMD’s Josh Berlo accepted an out-of-state position, the university’s athletic department will have a new face stand in his place until they find the next great match.
Berlo announced his departure after nine years of service with UMD.
The university said Berlo would be with them through the first week of July.
As for now, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations, Karen Stomme will act as Interim Athletic Director.
Chancellor Lendley C. Black said Stomme plans to delay her retirement to help while the search for the new AD is complete.
In an effort to move things along with the search, a small advisory committee has been created.
The committee will hold its first meeting within the next few weeks, with a goal to complete the search within a couple months.
