Superior, WI- The Lake Superior Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the American Legion Post 435 and the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center are coming together for a Flag Day Celebration. Cathedral Girl Scouts Troop 4461 and the American Legion Auxiliary 435 will be on-site to teach proper flag etiquette and folding. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Iron Range- The IRRRB announced $7 million in funding at their meeting Tuesday. The majority of grants are going to help with infrastructure, trail systems, and education. Infrastructure grants include development grants like the $1.5 million to Virginia for a new hotel complex. Additionally, broadband infrastructure like the $100,000 to help 75 underserved homes in Ash Lake. The board says the grants are set to impact 46 jobs and create 356 construction jobs.

Minnesota- Here’s a free and fun reason to get outdoors this weekend! Saturday is National Get Outdoors Day and to celebrate, the DNR is offering free admission to all 75 state parks and recreation areas. There are only four “Free Park Days” each year. This doesn’t cover extra expenses like camping or rentals but it still helps make the outdoors accessible to everyone. Additionally, there are over three-dozen special programs being offered for Get Outdoors Day.
