City by City: Hibbing, Biwabik, Wisconsin
Hibbing, MN- Range Regional Airport has set June 28 as their final public information meeting. They will share the results and findings from their Master Plan update at the meeting. The meeting will be held inside the passenger terminal. There will also be a virtual option.
Biwabik, MN- Residents will see some closures beginning May 27. MnDOT will be repairing the sidewalk and concrete along Highway 135. This means that the sidewalks and shoulders will be closed to pedestrians. This work is expected to continue the following week. Additionally, they are monitoring the pavement conditions along this stretch and those repairs will come at a later date.
Wisconsin- The 2022 Elk quota has been set and time is running out for hunters to apply for a license. The draw will happen in mid-June but interested hunters need to have their name in by Tuesday, May 31. The quota this year will be eight male elk. Four permits will go to the Ojibwe Tribe. Three lottery tags will be drawn at random and the remaining tag will be awarded through a raffle held by the Wisconsin Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
