South Shore- The Wisconsin DNR is starting to think about summer. Ahead of warmer temps and days at the beach they are updating and changing their Great Lakes Beach List. It is a requirement that states must have a program for effective water quality monitoring and public notification at coastal beaches. By having this program the state then gets money to monitor E.Coli levels and alert the public when it is not safe to swim. There are additions and changes proposed for 3 sites in our area, in Douglas and Bayfield County.

Two Harbors, MN- An annual spring art event returns this week. Voyageur Artists of Lake County will host their annual exhibit starting Thursday, May 26. This year’s theme is “Renewal” and works from several local artists will be featured. Several different types of mediums will be on display including photography, watercolor, printing and more. The opening reception will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Harbor Rail Event Center featuring local live music.

Duluth, MN- On Tuesday, May 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. MnDOT will be hosting a meeting with project ideas for the 5th Avenue W bridge. The options being explored come from a public survey hosted earlier this year. This will begin a study process that will gather viewpoints on the functionality and shortcomings of the bridge to plan for a future traffic model. The meeting will be held at the library. If you’re unable to attend they have a webpage dedicated to project updates.
