BAYFIELD COUNTY, WI -- Bayfield County home and cabin owners are being asked to keep their eyes peeled for suspicious activity amid a recent “rash” of burglaries in the area.

Several businesses and cabins in northeastern Bayfield County were broken into over the past month, according to the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office.

There were also a few burglaries reported around Lake Owen near Drummond.

CBS 3 reached out to the sheriff’s office to learn exactly how many crimes they’re investigating and what was taken. We did not immediately hear back.

If you see suspicious people or vehicles, the sheriff’s office advises you to take a picture, write down a license plate, and call 715-373-6120 or 911.

If you have trail cameras or video surveillance at your properties, you’re asked to look and share anything that’s out of the norm with authorities.
