DULUTH, MN-- Mayor Emily Larson declared Police Week this week, May 16-20 in Duluth.

In honor of Police Week, a memorial lunch will be held Tuesday afternoon to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The lunch runs from noon to 1 p.m. at the Holiday Inn downtown for anyone to attend.

The DPD lost K9 Luna in 2021 and K9 Haas in 2019.

Both were shot and killed while responding to domestic calls.

Before that, the last DPD officer who died on the job was Sargeant Gary Wilson back in April 1990.
