Hibbing, MN- The Hibbing Jubilee will be held July 9 and the chamber of commerce needs a parade grand marshal. They are asking the community to submit people who are leaders, advocates and spirited. Nominations can be made here.

Ironwood, MI- The City of Ironwood’s Composting Site opened today! It will be open weekly Thursday through Saturday for residents and nearby visitors. The site takes leaves and other garden vegetation for free that will then be turned into compost for residents. Trees and brush will also be taken for a fee dependent on truck size. Those fees will be waved for the month of May. Compost tickets can be purchased at the city offices.

Minnesota- The DNR is encouraging anglers to help protect the state’s fish resources. Minnesota’s Fishing opener is May 14 and state leaders are hoping everyone follows regulations. Those out fishing can do their part and download the MNTip app, which allows for anonymous submissions of violation reports. The app is an extension of the Turn In Poachers hotline and other resources.
