City by City: Ashland, Cable, Biwabik
Ashland, WI- We brought you the story of the Ashland Birth center just a few weeks ago and while they have secured the funding needed to stay in their current home, they already has a fun-filled Saturday planned! Hosted by the Penokee Mountain Cooperative School the day will feature a 5k race and 1k kids run. After the runs everyone is invited to a spring carnival at the Bay Area Civic Center featuring food, games, face painting and a photo-op with kittens.
Cable, WI- Rumble on the Lake is back for its 10th year this June. The annual motorcycle rally invites hundreds of riders to enjoy 125 miles of beautiful North woods while raising money for several programs in area communities. Early registration is only $20 and closes May 15. Ride weekend is June 3-4. The ride starts in Cable, heads to Hayward and Barnes before returning.
Biwabik, MN- Need another sign summer is on its way? Music in the Park returns for its 9th season this June. Every other Thursday music lovers can head to Biwabik City Park for a variety of tunes. First up will be rock group “Iron Range Funk Machine” on June 9. The shows are free but there will be food for purchase. Bring your own lawn chair. The music starts at 6:30 p.m.
