Duluth, MN- Officer Kipp Duncan was chosen as the 2021 DNR Conservation Officer of the Year! Officer Duncan serves the Duluth East area. The award is given to someone who has shown outstanding performance over their whole career, for Officer Duncan that has been a career spanning over 20 years serving Two Harbors and Duluth. He also received the Law Enforcement Award from the Minnesota Chapter of the Wildlife Society. Congrats to Officer Duncan!

Twin Ports- A major construction project is set to begin at the end of May. The Blatnik Bridge will be under going maintenance this summer in order to extend its lifespan until 2028, when it will be fully replaced. This summer’s repairs include barrier replacements, sealing of deck joints, surface repairs and more. For drivers this work means only one lane will be open in each direction. MnDOT is hosting a virtual meeting Wednesday, May 11 with more of the project details.

Bessemer, MI- This will be the second summer of construction work rebuilding US-2 through Bessemer. The project runs from Powdermill Creek bridge to Old US-2 on the East side of town. In total just over 2.5 miles of road will receive upgrades. The work is mainly to fix not only the road but replace aging sewer and water main lines. There will be a virtual meeting held Thursday, May 12 with further details.
