Tracking warmth as well as storms for the weekend

DULUTH, MN. (CBS 3 Duluth) -

Friday: We start our Friday mainly cloudy, but as we head through the afternoon, we begin to see some rain work its way into the region. This system does look to be all rain! Showers continue through the afternoon and evening. Temperatures climb back into the 40s for most. There is a shot at some possible strong to even severe storms this evening and through the overnight hours. The main threat with the storms is large hail and strong winds.

Saturday: This is the day some could see 70! The closer you are to the lake, the cooler you are with some clouds and fog overhead. Saturday also features showers with strong to possibly severe storms. Again with, the biggest threats are strong winds and large hail. Things begin to calm down as we head towards the overnight hours Saturday.

Sunday: We’ll see a little break in the action early. Before more scattered rain moves in toward the late morning hours, lasting into the afternoon and evening. Scattered t-storms will be possible, but no severe weather is expected for Sunday. Northern MN could see some light snow Sunday afternoon into the evening hours as the system departs. little to no accumulation is expected.
