DULUTH, MN. (CBS 3 Duluth) -

Today: Our next system arrives today. This will start as snow for most across Minnesota before most change over to a mix or rain through the afternoon hours. Precipitation will begin to work its way in through the morning hours. As we head towards the afternoon hours, a rain-snow line will start to progress its way further north and east across Minnesota through the afternoon. Meaning, the further northeast your live, the longer it will snow. That means the arrowhead region will get the jackpot when it comes to snow, where some places may see between 4-8″ of new snow before we are all said and done. For northwest Wisconsin, this looks to be a mainly rain event. Temperatures today climb into the mid and upper 30s and lower 40s.

Tonight: Precip should begin to warp up as we head past this evening. A spot rain or snow shower can’t be ruled out through the overnight hours, but it will not amount to much, and most should stay dry. Mostly cloudy skies prevail temperatures fall back into the 30s across the Northland.

Thursday: We start the day with mostly cloudy skies overhead, but the trend will be for skies to clear through the day, giving way to partly to mostly sunny skies in the evening. We warm up as well, with temperatures climbing into the mid and upper 40s. Depending on how much sun some get, I would not be surprised to see some crack the lower 50s.

Coming Up: We are tracking another system heading into the week in the form of rain. Will it be a washout? Meteorologist Peter Kvietkauskas will have the forecast on CBS 3 This Morning!
