Improving conditions for the weekend
DULUTH, MN. (CBS 3 Duluth) -
Today: For most of our Friday, skies are clearing for much of the region, starting the day with mostly cloudy skies overhead, but as we head towards this afternoon and evening, sunshine returns with partly to mostly sunny skies prevailing for a good portion of the region by the time sunset rolls around this evening. Lake effect snow lingers along the South Shore thanks to winds out of the north between 10-15 MPH.
Tonight: Most have partly to mostly clear skies overhead though the night tonight. Lake effect snow lingers along the South Shore but begins to wrap up as winds out of the north diminish. All said and done through the day Friday, Some along the South Shore from generally Ashland points east could pick up another 3-6″ of new snow.
Saturday: Sunshine returns for all. With mostly sunny skies overhead, temperatures make it into the mid and upper 40s for most. Some may get close to craking that 50-degree mark. Winds are out of the north between 5-10 MPH.
Sunday: Sunday features a few more clouds and a stray shot at a shower generally from the Iron Range points north and west, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Otherwise, partly to mostly cloudy skies prevail across the regions, and temperatures climb into the upper 40s and lower 50s.
