UPDATE 5:20 p.m. -- Duluth Police say the man that was barricading himself inside a Duluth Kwik Trip with a weapon has surrendered.

According to officials, the 29-year-old man came out of the gas station just after 5:00 p.m.

Police were on scene of the incident for almost 2 hours.

Police say the man has been detained and is being transported to a local hospital.

No injuries have been reported.

DULUTH, MN. (CBS 3 DULUTH) - Duluth Police are surrounding the Lincoln Park Kwik Trip where they say a person with a weapon is inside the store.

According to Kwik Trip employees they were evacuated from the store by police after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say everyone inside the store at the time made it out safely.

At this time we do not know what has lead up to this incident.

Michigan Street near 27th Ave. W. is closed to traffic as of 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police are asking the public to stay away from the scene as they try and resolve the situation.
