Minnesota- Feedback for deer population goals around the state opened today, including in the Arrowhead region. The DNR is currently asking for public input on deer population goals in 28 of 130 deer permit areas across the state. The population goals may increase, decrease or stay the same for the next five to 10 years. The DNR will host a public meeting to take comments on the six areas in the Arrowhead Wednesday, January 26 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will also be a web session Monday, January 24 for areas north and west of Grand Rapids. Hibbing, MN- The Hibbing city council is now taking applications to fill a vacant seat. The council currently has a vacancy for Ward 4, the southwest section of the city. Applications are available on The City of Hibbing website and are due February 17. Interviews will be held during a public meeting on February 23. For the application, click here.
Washburn, WI- The city and Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be hosting a public meeting Wednesday, January 26, for the future of a major city street. The two groups are still in the planning stages of major reconstruction to Bayfield street between 2024 to 2027. In October, two public meetings were held considering detour options but Wednesday’s meeting will present a third detour option that would allow for more construction at once.
