Brutal cold to start the week
DULUTH, MN. (CBS 3 Duluth) -
Monday: Most are starting Monday hovering right around the zero degree mark, and temperatures don’t climb all that much further than that for today. With a mix of sun and clouds, temperatures climb into the single digits above zero for most across the Northland. As winds pick up in the afternoon hours, it could prove to feel even cooler than with wind chills below zero for most through the afternoon hours. Winds are of the northwest between 5-10 MPH for this afternoon.
Monday Night: Get ready for the cold! We have windchill advisories and windchill warnings up for the Northland for the night tonight. With partly cloudy skies overhead, actual air temperatures fall into the teens and 20s below zero. With winds out of the northwest between 10-15 MPH, we are talking wind chills in the 30s and even low to 40s below zero. Brrr!
Tuesday: We start cold, and we end the day cold. With partly cloudy skies prevailing for much of the day, temperatures only make it into the single digits below zero for most of the Northland. Winds are out of the northwest between 10-15 MPH meaning wind chills are in the teens to twenties below zero through the day.
