City by City: Minnesota, Ely, Washburn
Minnesota- Too many deaths occur on snowmobile trails every year so the DNR wants to remind riders of best practices. According to the DNR, over seven riders die while snowmobiling in Minnesota each year. They want to remind riders to stay on marked trails, leave the booze at home, and be careful on the ice. Additionally, they encourage everyone to participate in safety training courses. For kids, there will be a safety field day at the Hermantown Night Riders Clubhouse Saturday, January 22. Snowmobiling Safety Awareness Week runs January 15-23. For more information on the Hermantown and other safety training courses, click here.
