UMD women explode for eight goals to down Bemidji State
DULUTH, MN. (CBS 3) - The UMD women’s hockey team cruised past Bemidji State with an 8-2 win at AMSOIL Arena on Friday afternoon.
Naomi Rogge and Katie Davis each had a pair of goals for the Bulldogs. Davis tallied her first goal of the season late in the second period to help blow the game open for UMD. Ten different UMD players tallied points in the rout.
It’s UMD’s third straight win over the Beavers this season, two of which have come in blowout fashion.
“We had a blast tonight, the bench was lit up the whole time. Really engaged, they love each other, they’re great teammates to each other. When they come back after the break, you usually get a nice performance from them, and we’ll expect to keep that continuing throughout the weekend,” said head coach Maura Crowell.
They’ll be back at it for game two of the series tomorrow afternoon at 3:01p.m.
