City by City: Hoyt Lakes, Chisholm, Grand Rapids

Hoyt Lakes, MN- Hoyt Lakes is looking to fill an open seat on the city council. After a resignation earlier this month, the city is now taking applicants for the position. Those who are interested must be a resident of Hoyt Lakes, eligible to vote in Minnesota and at least 21 years old. Applications are due December 29, at 4 p.m. For more information, click here.

Chisholm, MN- The United Way of Northeastern Minnesota provides free meals to children in need during the summer with their Meet Up and Chow Down program. From June to September their nine locations across the range served over 11,000 meals to those in need. That is nearly 3,000 more than the previous summer. It is an all-volunteer program.

Grand Rapids, MN- Spots are still open for next weeks blood drive. On January 5 Elder Circle will host the drive at the Itasca County Family YMCA. The drive will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To register, click here.
