Mount Zion, MI - It is almost time to hit the slopes. After a few delays due to weather the Mt. Zion Ski Hill is planning to open for skiing and snowboarding on Sunday, December 26. They will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through the new year and then hours change after a short closure the first week of January. For more information on rates and hours, click here.

Moose Lake, MN - Local students are invited to apply for scholarships from an area cable provider. Mediacom gives away thousands of dollars in scholarships to high school seniors every year. Sixty students will be chosen for $1,000 scholarships to help with secondary or vocational education. Students have until February to apply. For more information, click here.

Duluth, MN - One local small business is stepping up to help others. As previously reported by CBS 3, a historic building on Superior Street that houses three local businesses is having them relocate at the end of January. Hearing of their sudden move Sam Nielsen of “Art by SJ Nielsen” is selling a special “Local Love” print to support them. She is taking pre-orders, and donations, through next Tuesday and all profits and donations will be split among Huckleberry, Old Town Antiques and Books, and the Chinese Dragon.
