DULUTH, MN. (CBS 3 Duluth) - A national ice skating show is hitting the rink in Duluth this weekend.

“Stars on Ice” is performing their holiday show at the AMSOIL Arena on Sunday, December 19.

It’s a tour across the country. Duluth is their last stop of the show, and the only stop in Minnesota.

“Stars on Ice” gives audience members the rare opportunity to see some of the World’s most talented figure skaters performing together in both individual and ensemble routines.

“Everyone in the show seems to be a gold medal, silver, bronze medal Olympian, a world champion, a national champion,” said Lucie Amundsen, the Communications Director for the DECC.

“This is really high level skating, and it is not like watching it on TV. People don’t get the sense of the speed they have to take to make those jumps, and I think people will be delighted to see what a thrilling sport it is.”

“Stars on Ice” begins at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the AMSOIL arena.

Doors open at 3 p.m.

There will be a special guest honored at the “Stars on Ice” show. You can learn more about her story HERE.

Ticketholders can experience another special perk - the night before the show, there will be free skating at the AMSOIL Arena.

That’s on Saturday, December 18 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and only open to “Stars on Ice” ticketholders.

Participants are asked to bring their own skates.
