DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) - A future Blatnik Bridge could include space for pedestrians and bicyclists.

That was part of the conversation during Thursday night’s public meeting on the bridge’s construction plans.

MnDOT and WisDOT introduced an idea to construct a walking and bicycling path when the Blatnik is rebuilt.

There’s a survey available online to share your thoughts on the idea.

An estimated 33-thousand vehicles use the Blatnik Bridge every day.

Inspections have determined it needs work.

After the current planning, public comment and design phase, construction begins in 2028 and will wrap up in 2032.
