Northlanders asked to light candle Thursday to honor impaired driving crash victims
DULUTH, MN -- Mother’s Against Drunk Driving is asking everyone in the Northland to light a candle Thursday night, honoring those who have died in impaired driving crashes.
MADD hopes people will light a luminary at 7 p.m. wherever they may be.
“This is done as a show of solidarity, support, honor, and remembrance to those who have lost their lives as a result of this 100% preventable crime,” St. Louis County Sheriff’s officials wrote.
St. Louis County Sheriff’s leaders will also light their own candle at 7 p.m.
This year’s event is held in conjunction with MADD’s National Day of Remembrance.
