City by City: Biwabik, Eveleth, Hibbing
Biwabik, MN- City officials have announced they are making crucial improvements to Biwabik’s water supply source. The city will switch over from the Canton Pit to the Embarrass Pit, which will allow for service to the entire water system. Biwabik officials are working hand-in-hand with the Minnesota Department of Health to ensure the safety of this new source of drinking water and said the two pits have a very similar level of quality, so residents should not notice the change in the water.
Eveleth, MN- The Quad Cities is offering the region another curling funspiel, a Northland holiday staple. This year marks the 12th year of the Annual Gary Carlson Memorial Funspiel hosted by the Laurentian Chamber of Commerce. The curling teams are fully booked, but those looking to see 26 talented teams face off for eight non-stop hours of curling action, then the Curl Mesabi Club in Eveleth is the place to be Friday. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
