DULUTH, MN. (CBS3 Duluth) - The number one ranked Bulldogs experienced defeat on the road Friday night in their first game against Northern Michigan.

However, UMD hit the ice again Saturday night with the goal of scoring more goals and leaving Marquette with a win in their bags.

Goaltender Ben Patt in his second career start hoping to skate past the cats.

Bo Hanson fires this shot past Patt just a minute thirty into the first period, and the Wildcats jump out early to a 1-0 lead.

And Northern Michigan stayed in front the rest of the way. AJ Vanderbeck gets the long pass and the puck by Patt and the Cats extend the lead, 2-0.

Bulldogs dug themselves a 3-0 hole until Tanner Laderoute added the first goal for the Dogs. UMD does add another score but ultimately gets swept in Michigan, 5-2.
