Sunny but cold Thanksgiving on tap!
Happy Thanksgiving! Today we’ll see plenty of sunshine all day as high pressure is in control. Highs will sit below average in the teens to low 20s. With strong winds out of the northwest at 10-20 mph expect wind chills to sit in between 5 and 10 degrees. Light lake effect snow is still possible across the snowbelt region just east of Ashland. Overnight, we’ll see increasing cloud cover but temperatures will still drop into the single digits for most areas as winds are calm.
Quiet conditions continue into Friday with chilly temperatures for Black Friday shopping. Highs for the afternoon only climb into the upper 20s as we sit under mostly cloudy skies with a few flurries likely in northern Minnesota.. Winds will be out of the southeast at 5-10 mph. Lows overnight drop into the teens.
A quick clipper system will move through the region early Saturday morning and will bring with light snow showers for most of the region. Models are looking at about 2-4″ of snow moving across the central parts of the region, however, stay tuned for updated location. Snow will taper Saturday evening with highs in the mid 30s.
We’ll see partly cloudy skies for Sunday with highs sitting at our average in the low and mid 30s. Winds will be out of the northwest at 5-10 mph. Overnight, lows drop into the low 20s, and light snow will again be possible for early Monday morning.
