DULUTH, MN. (CBS 3 Duluth) - As the weather gets colder, Island Lake Inn, their employees, and friends have teamed up to provide and construct free fleece blankets for the homeless community.

They will gather on Tuesday, November 23, from 6-8 pm, to tie about 30 warm fleece blankets to donate to Chum in Duluth.

The Island Lake Inn has been collecting new and gently used warm adult and children’s clothing to donate to Chum as well.

“We have so much to be thankful for and we want to give back to the community by donating our money and time to help people who don’t have homes keep warm this winter”, says Kathy Watters, co-owner of the Island Lake Inn.

Watters sends thanks to Erin Cox from Mimi’s Custom Embroidery for donating her time to order the supplies and teaching people how to tie the blankets. She also thanks Thrivent for donating $150 towards this project.
