Wisconsin- It’s bat week and the DNR is offering a $25 rebate to those who purchase one of the specialty endangered resources license plates. Proceeds from all endangered resources license plates help protect Wisconsin’s rare and in-need species. There are four species of bats native to Wisconsin that have all seen population decline due to a fungal disease. For more information on the plates or endangered species, click here.
Superior, WI- A local firefighter is being honored for his dedication. Captain Brett Uchanski of the Town of Superior Volunteer Fire Department was awarded the First Responder of the Year Award for the 73rd Assembly District. He was honored at the Wisconsin State Capitol on October 26, along with other first responders from across the state. October is First Responder Appreciation Month in Wisconsin. Congrats to Captain Uchanski!
Side Lake, MN- Friday, October 29 the Side Lake community is coming together for a Fall Festival and Costume Party. The event will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Community Pavilion Center. All the fun will be free and activities include games, treats, prizes and pumpkins for the first 75 kids! The event will be held outside so be sure to dress warm and in costume!
