The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has launched a new app so Gooseberry Falls can be with you wherever you go.

The agency says new interactive exhibits have been installed at the park's visitor center, which are allowed to give visitors a better understanding of the park features.

The app, called Gooseberry Falls Go, will connect actual examples in the park to key elements in the exhibits.

DNR officials say a topographic map table visitors can touch helps them orient to the park, and can then slide a lever to see how the color and volume of water in the falls can change.

In addition, the app uses a "GeoAlert" function to let hikers know when they're approaching points of interest.

The DNR says the app was made with funds from the Parks and Trails Fund, as well as a grant from NOAA.
