A fire at a Minnesota Power substation knocked out power for thousands in Duluth Tuesday night.

At its height, over 2,400 Minnesota Power customers were without power, according to the Minnesota Power outage map.

The outages were reported around 7 p.m. Tuesday, and are now fully restored.

A company spokesperson says the outages were caused by a switch at their substation catching fire.

Crews worked in the area of 4th Street and 10th Avenue.
